Here are a few of the questions and answers that often come up. Please feel free to email any questions to:
A: My build time right now is 10-12 weeks.
A: All of my strap will vary slightly in thickness however a typicall military strap will be approximately 4-4.5mm thick at the lugs, and taper to 3-3.5mm at the ends. Bridle Straps will be more consistent in thickness and will be a standard 3.5-4mm thick all the way through.
A: Full stitch is stitched around the perimeter of the strap, but is left open at at the lug ends. (See Below)
A: Box stitch is stitched around the perimeter of the strap and is closed or "boxed" across the lug ends. (See Below)
A: End stitch is only stitched across the lug ends and buckle end of the strap. (See Below)
A: No problem at all. I understand, you have a specific color/texture/condition in mind. You should see exactly what you will be getting. Please allow 1-2 extra days for me to send images of the leather I plan to use for your strap.
A: Leather will change in color and condition, however construction and quality should never be an issue. If there is any problem at all, EVER, simply send me the strap and I will take care of it. Here is a picture of a strap in English military leather I made for my Seiko over 2 years ago. The strap is in great condition and in my opinion looks even better with age.
A: I do. Every aspect of the business is ran by me. I will be the only one taking orders, building, stitching and shipping your strap.
A: Getting your strap wet will not be a problem at all. The leather may darken slightly, however it will not affect the glue or stitching what so ever.
A: I can’t tell you how many times this comes up, so I have just resorted to telling customers my own personal strap length story. I have a 7 1/2” wrist and I started with OEM length which is 115/75mm. Once I ordered my first after market strap, I moved up to 135/85mm. My first vintage strap was 150/85mm, and now I wear a strap that is 160/90mm. So the only thing I can suggest that you order your strap a bit longer.
Here is a basic chart to follow:
6.0" - 6.5" 15cm - 16.5cm = 120/75mm
6.6" - 6.9" 16.6cm - 17.5cm = 125/75mm
7.0" - 7.5" 17.6cm - 19cm = 130/80mm
7.6" - 7.9" 19.1cm - 20cm = 135/85mm
8.0" - 8.5" 20.1cm - 21.5cm = 140/90mm
8.6" - 9.0" 21.6cm - 23cm = 145/95mmA: I sew by hand. Each strap is literally hand stitched using two needles attached to one piece of waxed thread. Each stitch is made by crossing each needle from front to back, starting at one end of the strap, and finishing at the other end.
A: I don’t ship my straps with tubes because I only use OEM tubes for all of my personal straps, and I have just gotten used to changing the tubes with each strap. There are many places to order tubes online if you would like an extra pair.
A: There are a lot of elements that factor into the equation. Each strap is literally hand made, and takes between 4-5 hours to complete over several days. All of the leather I use is top quality new or vintage leather that has been hand selected and treated. Every element from the buckles I use to the packaging design are handled by me. Each strap I create is literally 1 of 1, there will be no other strap like it.
A: I have shipped to South Korea, China, The Netherlands and Australia. There are 3 basic options. I primarily ship with USPS Express Mail.
1. USPS First Class (25$ US) which takes just about two weeks with no tracking number.
2. USPS Express (30-60$ US) which takes 3-10 days and you will be provided a tracking number.
3. UPS/Fedex (cost varies greatly) which takes 1-8 days and you will be provided a tracking number.
Note: Prices are subject to change due to fluctuation in international shipping rates.
