About the Watch:

This 1960's Tissot watch has a wonderful silver sunburst dial with original hands and lume plots. The applied Deco style "T" Tissot logo and batons are highly legible and clean. This watch is all original and includes the original signed crown. The manual wind movement has been serviced, runs strong, and keeps good time. The case is razor sharp and appears to be unpolished. We fitted this piece with a beautiful olive green Minerva Box calf strap with light sage green stitch. The subtle texture and deep warm green of the hide is the perfect compliment to the bright, clean, almost surgical look to the watch. The size is excellent and wears great on the wrist. A beautiful watch all around from a great Swiss watch brand.

About the Brand:

Tissot boasts a near 170 year history, founded in Le Locle Switzerland in 1853. In that same year, Tissot introduced the worlds first pocket watch with two time zones. Their history of innovations did not stop there. Tissot released the first mass-produced watch to feature 24 time zones, the Tissot Navigator, in 1953. In 1930, Tissot merged with Omega creating SIHH. This was the foundation for the Swatch Group which, stop me if you have heard this before, in 1983 acquired Tissot. Tissot continues to create reliable, tasteful and relatively inexpensive mechanical watches to this day. A titan in the watch world, even if they are not as popular as some other Swiss brands.

About Vintage Watches:

Please note that nearly all vintage watches are not water resistant, despite any markings on the case or dial, and care should be taken when wearing. All vintage watches will show signs of wear and patina, our favorite part, and scratches on the case, crystal, and case back are all part of the charm! All of our vintage watches have been cleaned, running, and left in unpolished condition when possible. Vintage watches should run as intended, however, some slight variations in timekeeping are to be expected. Plus or minus 10-30 seconds a day is common. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, we love talking watches.
